I applied for a few jobs at MLK library yesterday. While there, I saw a flyer for a noon concert and a showing of the Twilight Zone television series. The musicians played Schubert to a crowd of only 8 people in a large hall. A homeless man sat in the front with a rolling cart. An old man in the audience told everyone facts about Schubert between songs. I couldn't tell if it was planned and he didn't feel like getting up for his little speeches, or if he just really liked Schubert. The office worker on his lunch break who sat in front of me must have been eating an onion sandwich. The songs played were about a young man who fell out of love with his work and so began a journey looking for an apprenticeship. Schubert produced over 600 works and had the nickname 'who will pay for that?' (because he was generally penniless but had good friends who mocked him, and always paid). He died penniless at age 31.
The Twilight Zone episodes were projected in another room.

I got lots of new books to sell recently. Please check them out. Some of them are only a dollar. I also found an copy of Victor Hugo's 'The Man who Laughed' from 1888. The original Joker from Batman was based on a character in the book. Also, a couple of Freud's books from the 1930s. Wittgenstein, did I say Wittgenstein?
Look them over here:
