SDCC 2011 so far...

This picture pretty much sums up the con. I don't know what the black wizard thing is, but they seemed to be on to something dark. Turns out, these two were promoting an indie horror press called 'Ink Pen Mutations'.

So far everything at SDCC 2011 has gone really well. Thanks to everyone who came to the AICN horror comics panel and our Geekscape signings. Jonathan drew some phantasmic sketches for the Detective Warlock signing, and while no one asked to have their fortune told, Brea and I had a good time secretly casting your fates. One more signing to go! Sunday at 1pm at the IDW booth with the Suicide Girls crew!

San Diego Comic Con 2011 Schedule

I'm excited for this year's SDCC! Amidst the chaos, I'll be tethered somewhere every day. Here is my 2011 San Diego Comic Con signing and panel schedule. Please stop by and say hello!

Thursday 1:30 - 2:30, AICN Horror Comics Panel, Room 24ABC
Comics: Horror on the Paneled Page – Mark L. Miller (Ain’t It Cool News) hosts a panel focusing on horror with some of comic books’ darkest writers and artists. The discussion will breach topics such as how to create successful horror comics, what causes chills and what doesn’t. Join Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Criminal Macabre), Joshua Hale Fialkov (Echoes, DC’s upcoming I, Vampire), David Quinn (Faust), Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash), Matt Pizzolo (Godkiller), Brea Grant (We Will Bury You, Suicide Girls), Zane Grant (We Will Bury You, Detective Warlock), Terrance Zdunich (The Molting, Repo The Genetic Opera) and a few surprise guests to find out what makes these panelists the best of the best in comic book horror!

Friday, 12-1, Geekscape - booth 4016
Jonathan Spies and I will be at the Geekscape booth signing free Detective Warlock, Warlock Detective mini-comics. Geekscapers Forever!

Saturday, 2-3, Geekscape - booth 4016

Brea and I will be signing anything and everything and giving out free hair health and styling advice.

Sunday, 12-1, IDW, Suicide Girls signing
Most everyone involved in the Suicide Girls masterwork comic will be there in the most debauched signing at the con. David Hahn, Missy Suicide, Cameron Stewart, Brea, and myself at the only sibling co-authored spy-fi erotica comic at the con. Taboo!

A Samurai Cop for my birthday!
I went to see Samurai Cop with a few friends last night, and it didn't disappoint. Thanks for the fun birthday!

Junk Food for Dinner put together the screening and did an episode about the film. According to their site, 'Samurai Cop' was written and directed by Amir Shervan "who (allegedly) owned every theater in Iran". The film is supposedly the first of a trilogy.

The trailer they put together for the screening hints at the film's excesses:
