The other night I told this kid he looked like that actor from Smallville, and he didn't know what I was talking about until his girlfriend told him, "Superman." Then he said, "oh, I get that a lot, because I work at a comics store but I don't read Superman." We were talking about comics, and he said he really liked this book IDW put out, 'Sword of My Mouth'. So, I picked it up, and now I keep thinking about it. Basically, it is a story about Detroit after the rapture occurs. The art is simple and the ink is heavy on strange focuses, like the ribbon in that old woman's hair, and the lettering is supposed to be like it was from an actual letter to someone who heard the trumpet and ascended. So, at first, I was completely offput, but the story works so well with the art and both are so weird... not much out there like this right now. So good that I am going to check out the first book this Munroe guy did. He used to be the editor of Adbusters? What a weirdy.
"These days, now that magic works, you just don't want to fuck with old ladies."
Excited to see where this series goes.

Here is an article I co-wrote a while ago that just came out on Dutch Anarchism in the 1960's: Provo: Dutch Anarchism in the 1960's

I watched this new Norwegian zombie film 'Dead Snow' last night. Sort of a 'Shawn of the Dead' like parody, plus Nazi zombies. It was pretty goofy, but enjoyable nonetheless if you are looking for a decent 'splatter film' (as they say in the far north).
