Swamp Thing pissed here.

Stumbled on this illustration of Swamp Thing by Christian Ward. Not sure if this piece was ever published. As a side note, I like that someone took some pages to explain the digestive processes of Swamp Thing in that issue where he absorbs a dead swamp animal... and I like to think about how Swamp Thing is friends with this bird.

Frontier(s)

Though the trailer says 'Frontier(s)'is the French answer to 'Saw' and 'Hostel', as Orion pointed out, it is more like 'Psycho' meets 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' (though the film's tone is closer to those it references). Think about it, when was the last time you saw a decent French horror film anyway? Not exactly the genre their film industry is known for, but the additions of French Muslim protagonists and a psychotic family raised under a Nazi patriarch gave Frontier(s) a political twist. They even used footage of what looks like the 2005 riots in France to set everything up. The pace of the plot is fast, and most of the second half of the movie is high tension, following the final girl who has a pretty much by the book transformation scene. Despite its obvious homages to other films, it is still a rather original and at times terrifying alternative to some of the more recent U.S. horror remakes. It's too bad it received an NC-17 rating and got dumped to dvd after a limited one weekend release.
