Suicide Girls, CBR Interview

I'm working on issues 2-4 of the Suicide Girls comic with David Hahn, Cameron Stewart, Steve Niles, and Brea Grant! Just finished up writing issue 2 and things are getting dark for the ladies. And when it gets dark, narcoleptics fall asleep... I mean, clothes come off.

CBR recently did a piece on the project: here. Lest you have any doubts, check out the art!

Art has been rolling in this week for other projects as well, which I'm super-psyched about, and I haven't had to wield my crowbar against any cat-sized rats in my apartment for over a week now. All the same, I'm looking for tickets for a last minute trip to Emerald City Comic Con!

We Will Bury You TPB reviews

A couple of nice reviews of the 'We Will Bury You' TPB are up on Bust.com
and AICN !

In other news, January has been a month of battling blizzard beasts. Brea and I have been working away for the Suicide Girls comic, and I've started getting art back on a couple of other projects that I'll be sending out soon!

2010 Music List
Here is my 2010 music list:

Gil Scott Heron, "I'm New Here"

My co-worker played this for us a few times, and it grew on me. Spoken word, soundscapes. This is an adaptation of the Robert Johnson song.

Dark Dark Dark, "Wild Go"

Warpaint, "The Fool" Another one my co-workers introduced me to. Ethereal, but comparatively grounding.

Forgetters, "s/t"

I don't know what to say about this.

Leatherface, "Stormy Petrel"

To be fair, I own every Leatherface album, but Frankie Stubbs is the best worst singer of all time

Darkthrone, "Circle the Wagons"

The new Darkthrone albums are plentiful, but they are so fun we mustn't take them for granted.

Celestiial, "Where Life Springs Eternal"

Something about nature worship and funeral doom.

Ilsa, "Tutti Il Collori del Buio"

My friend Orion sings for this band. They are heavy.

Negura Bunget, "virstele pamintului"

Cleaner than OM, but still pretty great

Cough, "Ritual Abuse"

Doom.

Ghost, "Opus Eponymous"

Silly, highly theatrical "satanic" metal. "It smells of dead human sacrifice."

Agalloch, "Marrow the Spirit."

This has grown on me. Chanting, nature sounds, keyboards, folk/black metal. Reading over this list, I now realize I have become a goth.
